Sports Medicine Acupuncture

Sang Nguyen, L.Ac, DTCM, specializes in sports medicine injuries, chronic pain, and orthopedic disorders.

How does Acupuncture work?

Acupuncture stimulates blood/fluid circulation, proprioception, and the body’s energy pathways. It helps balance the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. It regulates the endocrine system and improves hormonal balance.

Acupuncture combined with herbal medicine and optimal diet can reduce inflammation and pain, improve digestive issues, sleeping patterns, and mental health.

Before Your Appointment

Please eat before your appointment, but avoid being overly full. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.

During Your Appointment

Your health history and symptoms will be reviewed. I will come up with a treatment plan based on the diagnosis. Acupuncture treatment involves the insertion of single-use, stainless steel needles into the body’s energy meridians. Needles are not pressed deep, and most people do not find it painful or even experience discomfort. You will rest with needles inserted for 25 - 30 minutes, and then the needles will be removed. Most people find these treatments very relaxing.

After Acupuncture Treatment

Drink water and be easy on yourself. Avoid strenuous activities.
